Woodlands : A Full Day in the Field
15 Oct 2026

On a recent Sunday morning, around 20 Keeping Hope Alive volunteers gathered at Woodlands Avenue 6 for a full day of door knocking. We distributed 1,000 packets of rice, 100 floor mats, 150 pillows, and 40kg of bananas to families in the neighborhood.

It was one of those days where each hour brought something different.

We cleaned a unit belonging to a single mother with a child with special needs. At some point during the morning, the child went missing. Our volunteers stopped what they were doing and searched the surrounding area. The child was found safe.

Elsewhere, two donors blessed two uncles with new refrigerators, and a cupboard was also provided to a resident. Our handyman volunteer repaired and installed a door lock for one of the units - the kind of practical task that doesn’t make for dramatic stories but matters a great deal to whoever lives behind that door.

We were also joined that day by a team from Our Grandfather Story (OGS), including their host Wendy, who came to learn what a Keeping Hope Alive door knocking session actually looks like on the ground.

None of this would have been possible without our sponsors. Daniel Lee sponsored 150 grocery packs. Food Bank Singapore, together with Our Grandfather Story, also contributed groceries. Toyogo sponsored storage containers. Care Corner Family Service Centre (Admiralty) provided cleaning kits for the families.

Between the door knocking, the cleaning, the search, the installations, and the guests learning alongside us - it was a full day in every sense. We are grateful to every volunteer and sponsor who showed up and saw it through.
